It’s been a while, since I’ve written a blog post here. I apologize, and … I’m back!

I was thinking! You probably watch television, don’t you? or listen to the radio, or Pandora or some other music source? So, if you’re home, or in your car, and something comes on the radio or your iDevice that you don’t want to listen to, what do you do?
You change the channel! You change the station on the radio, hit the down-thumb on Pandora, or… you get the picture.
And when a negative thought enters your head that you don’t want to listen to, what do you do? Well, most people play it over and over in their minds, until something else distracts them enough to distract them from it.
But you can change the channel in your mind, just as easily as you change the channel on the radio or Pandora… but simply thinking of something else intentionally. When something happens… something is said that upsets you, or at best puts you in an unresourceful state, just “change the channel” in your head.
You may not have power over what pops into your mind, but you DO have power over whether or not you dwell on it. And I hear you asking, “what if it comes back?” Well, what happens if that radio station plays that song again? You “change the channel” again and think about something different! The Law of Substitution says that we can’t think two thoughts at the same time, so if you switch your thoughts you’ll change the channel. It may take some practice, but start replacing negatives with positives now… develop the habit and a better day.
I’ll admit… it’s easier to switch it out with something positive, if you’ve been putting positive things in your mind to draw from.
