Greetings, web traveler! A funny thing happened on my way to 2020…
It was a glorious opening. I wrote my customary signature poem, and I was quite proud of it, really. Then, a funny thing happened… COVID! Now, don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t sick; I wasn’t even scared. All my family was fine, and… I even had my own little conspiracy theory working in my head — quietly held & closely kept. And I began to watch as life slowly changed.
Honestly, I thought it was a bit of a melodrama, but I couldn’t quite fathom how “they” — whoever they were — could actually get the whole known world into their little game. But gradually it sank in: Wow! this sucker is real! and it is affecting every area of my life, and the lives of people I knew. PLUS… people were sick and dying, so it was really serious and I just needed to get back to life, in whatever form that was going to take, with whatever adjustments were necessary, and acclimate to “our” new normal.
The interesting thing about COVID is that it was “on top of” everything else that was happening. All the rest of life continued — wars, riots, protests, job hunts, regular politics — and then. . . regular life. For instance, we had 3 deaths in our family in the past year, and neither was related to COVID. Yet, the restrictions associated with COVID made each of them more difficult than they would have been without it.
So what is new normal? Well, for me… I’m still largely regarded as the Prince of Positive! I still spend a lot of time helping people feel better about life and themselves. I still listen. I still write. I’m still a life coach. I did cut back on blogging — okay; took a hiatus? — but I published my Vitamin K Daily Dose of Positive every week day. And though I did kind of neglect my personal Intensely Positive Podcast, I was still actively partnering with my friend Josh Shear on our JKWD Podcast every Friday.
So, where do we go from here? Well, I’m no Michael Jordan, but, I’d like to say I’m back! So intend to blog here more regularly, and get back to regular IP podcasts very soon. Who knows. Maybe even this Friday!!
So let’s do this! Go back and review the 2020 launching blog post and re-read that poem. We definitely still need everything it mentions for the remainder of 2021… and maybe 2022. Together we can get through this thing. Life is constantly changing, and faster now than ever before.
It’s March 3, 2021. You’re still here! You’re still winning. Let’s keep winning together.
Have an awesome day!
