Change the Channel

in Attitude, How to Think More Positively, Mindset, Success

It’s been a while, since I’ve written a blog post here. I apologize, and … I’m back! Lots of things have happened that distracted me. But, I HAVE been writing my Vitamin K – Daily Dose of Positive, so I’ve been busy, just for a limited audience.  So check out Vitamin K Daily for 4 free weeks, and see what they got that you didn’t. And if you like it, you can continue receiving it for a whopping 49 cents per week — billed annually at $24.95, if you stay pass the 4 weeks.  A  year’s worth of daily, motivation, mindset shifters for only 49 cents per week.  Sounds ridiculous, right?  So you should jump on that before I realize how cheap it is and raise the price ;-) Another new development are my NEW Intensely Positive Podcasts!  I’ve done 3, at this sitting, and you can catch them on Spreaker or iTunes — or if you like, on Soundcloud or YouTube.  We’re everywhere you want to be.  So check them out and leave a comment to let me know how you liked them. I was thinking!  You probably watch television, don’t you? or listen to the radio, or Pandora or some other music source?  So, if you’re home, or in your car, and something comes on the radio or your iDevice that you don’t want to listen to, what do you do? You change the channel! You change the station on the radio, hit the down-thumb on Pandora, or… you get the picture. And when a negative thought enters your head that you don’t want to listen to, what do you do?  Well, most people play it over and over in their minds, until something else distracts them enough to distract them from it. But you can change the channel in your mind, just as easily as you change the channel on the radio or Pandora… but simply thinking of something else intentionally. When something happens… something is said that upsets you, or at best puts you in an unresourceful state, just “change the channel” in your head. You may not have power over what pops into your mind, but you DO have power over whether or not you dwell on it.  And I hear you asking, “what if it comes back?” Well, what happens if that radio station plays that song again? You “change the channel” again and think about something different!  The Law of Substitution says that we can’t think two thoughts at the same time, so if you switch your thoughts you’ll change the channel.  It may take some practice, but start replacing negatives with positives now… develop the habit and a better day. I’ll admit… it’s easier to switch it out with something positive, if you’ve been putting positive things in your mind to draw from. So, maybe you could start with this list, and get a head start on it. It contains info on the 3 books that changed my life: http://www.intenselypositive.com/recommended-reading/. I’m glad we had this talk. You take care for now.
